American Truck Simulator runs on the same engine as ETS2, and both games are on version 1.61. So I installed Deep Light in ATS and took it for a drive.
Every check passed on the first start: all 11 lighting hooks, the TAA shader, the camera data and the replaced ambient occlusion. Upscaling to 4K and FSR frame generation ran at 110 to 130 FPS on an RTX 5070 Ti, and the HUD stayed sharp in all but 6 of 6840 generated frames.
Your licence covers both games. If you play both, you pay once.
Announcement
DBM supporters are open
Deep Light started as a tool for my own drives. It now runs DLSS, FSR and frame generation in a game that has none of them, and every ETS2 and ATS update needs work to keep it running. From today you can support that work.
What supporters get
Deep Light for the current game version, and for each SCS open beta as soon as it is ready, usually within days.
New mods and big updates on this site 2 to 4 weeks before they reach the Workshop.
Bug reports from supporters are handled first.
What stays free
Every DBM mod on the Steam Workshop.
Deep Light for the previous game version, with every feature, once a newer version is stable.
When a new game version becomes stable, Deep Light for the previous version becomes free. 1.61 is the first version: it becomes free when 1.62 is stable.
Pricing
€3 a month, €20 a year for founders
There is one plan, and it covers both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. Supporters all get the same things, so there is nothing to compare and no feature held back for a higher tier.
Monthly is €3. Yearly is €30, and until 1 December 2026 it is €20 for everyone who joins: the founding price. Founders keep €20 at every renewal for as long as they stay. If you cancel and come back later, you join at the regular €30.
Pay for a year and you keep it: Deep Light keeps working on every game version released during your year, even if you never renew. Join yearly while 1.61 is current, and if 1.62 and 1.63 come out that year, all three keep running after your year ends. Only newer game versions need you to join again.
The monthly plan works while you support. If you cancel, Deep Light works on the free game versions: when a new game version becomes stable, Deep Light for the previous version becomes free. 1.61 is the first version: it becomes free when 1.62 is stable.
If the price ever changes, it will be announced here at least a month before, and current supporters keep their price.
Deep Light
First AMD test passed
A friend ran the tester build on a Radeon RX 6800 at 2560×1440. FSR frame generation started on the first try and ran without problems.
The logs also showed something to fix: with the game’s Scaling at 200%, the upscaler had nothing to do and said nothing about it. Deep Light 0.4 now warns about this in the overlay.
