ReShade for ETS2 and ATS

ETS2 ReShade: an add-on, not a preset

Most ReShade downloads for Euro Truck Simulator 2 are presets: filters on the finished picture. Deep Light is a ReShade add-on. It works while the game draws the frame, so it can do what a filter cannot.

Preset or add-on

  • A preset sharpens, tints and adds contrast to the final image, HUD and all. It cannot change the anti-aliasing, the light or the materials.
  • Deep Light replaces the game's TAA with DLSS or FSR, lights the scene with physically based lighting before the HUD is drawn, and gives the roads relief, cracks and puddles. It adds frame generation too.

It works with your ReShade

Install.bat downloads ReShade with add-on support. An existing ReShade.ini keeps your settings and presets, and ReShade effects still run on top of Deep Light. Uninstall.bat puts the game back as it was.

Looks built in

Deep Light has its own look presets, among them Real Life, Photorealist and Bright Haze, and more than 70 live controls in the overlay: exposure, white balance, shadows, contrast, road colour and more. An ON / OFF key shows the game with and without it.

One licence covers ETS2 and ATS. No always-online: it works offline for up to 30 days. See the FAQ for what happens if you stop.

Questions

What is the difference between a ReShade preset and a ReShade add-on?

A preset is a list of post-process filters applied to the finished image, HUD included. An add-on is a program that ReShade loads into the game. Deep Light is an add-on: it works on the frame while the game draws it, so it can replace the anti-aliasing with DLSS or FSR, light the scene before the HUD and change the road materials.

Can I keep my ReShade preset with Deep Light?

Yes. ReShade effects still run on top. While effects are on, Deep Light's HUD-less mode for frame generation pauses and says so, and the picture stays correct.

Does the installer replace my ReShade settings?

No. Install.bat downloads ReShade with add-on support, and an existing ReShade.ini keeps your settings and presets.

Does Deep Light have its own looks?

Yes. Look presets such as Real Life, Photorealist and Bright Haze, and more than 70 live controls in the overlay. The look presets and the advanced controls are in Deep Light Pro.
